The need for strengthening the prevention of Periodontal Disease - the WHO approach

Periodontal disease contributes significantly to the global burden of chronic disease. Meanwhile, for various reasons, somewhat limited attention has been given to periodontal disease in most countries by the population, providers of oral health care, and public health administrators.

Please find attached a report published in the most recent issue of the Journal of Periodontology entitled "Strengthening the prevention of Peridontal Disease: the WHO approach" J. Periodontol, 2005 76: 2187-2193.
